Lew Marklin Mash -

Executive Producer / Final Cut Editor

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Lew Marklin got his start in the entertainment business at a very young age. In 1984, at the age of 10, Marklin started a rap group with school friends to compete in a school talent show and so a long career in Hollywood would begin. Pictured to the left is a pic of Marklin, then known as Mark-E, at the age of 16. The teen rapper could dance and perform like nobodies business and he soom caught the eye of legendary music attorny Brian Rohan and music manager Todd Benzinger who signed the youth to a agent/management deal.

Soon after Marklin debut on KIIS FM when Rick Dees played his pop dance love song rap "Simply Love." Radio stations began to play the single and Marklin found himself performing warm ups for "Into the Night with Rick Dees" on ABC and "The Arsenio Hall Show" on NBC. The teen lived a charned life and left music for his higher calling to the ministry, as he was a licensed Reverend with the Assembies of God Church, where he would preach at many churches as an evangelist for the next 5 years.

In 1997 Marklin would reemerge on the Hollywood scene completely void of industry contacts and would have to start from scratch. He got a job at Saban Entertainment / Fox Family World Wide where they produced The Power Rangers and other Saturday morning kids programs. Marklin would start as a PA / Security guard where he would answer phones, escort visitors and run erands. He did this for 3 years before moving north to Santa Barbara, CA where he would intern at the local ABC News outlet starting as an Intern, PA, then camera man, then editor and eventually producer.

In 2004, while in full swing, as an editor and emerging producer, Marklin took an odd step and joined the production staff of the Los Angeles Dodgers, at Dodgervision with Big Screen Network for the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Marklin was able to add sports production to his resume and significant speed and rhythm to his editing abilities. Says Marklin, "I love the Dodgers and sports is a big deal with me. I would love the opportunity to do more in sports as time goes by. Sports has a distinct speed and rhythm to it. Either you get it or you don't."

Later Marklin would land a job editing a three hour long soccer broadcast for Fox Soccer Channel as a result.

On set "My Extreme Life"

On set, "Ultimate Women Challenge"

The sports production would pick up as Marklin became the Executive Producer of an extreme racing reality show entitled "My Extreme Life" for 120 Industries and then also became Executive Producer for "Ultimate Women Challenge," a reality show about 16 female MMA fighters who eventually fight each other in the octagon until one woman stands. This was for NBC Universal with LH Productions. It is worth noting that these companies hire Marklin specifically for his multi abilities and cost effectiveness. Marklin does 5 jobs for one man's salary and then finds even more creative ways to stretch your budget

In 2007 Marklin would realize his potential as an independant creator as he would produce and star in ADHDtv: With Lew Marklin, a comedy news show where Marklin reads a crazy news story and a cast of Hollywood actors would act out their interpretation of the scenario. The show would run 50 episodes, air in 52 major US cities, get nominated for 2 regional news Emmy's and outrank a good portion of network produced TV shows by thousands of ranks on IMDb while creating a following that stands to this day. It was all done on virtualy no budget.

Today Marklin consults several television producers, networks to get deals for projects of all different kinds and also produces and stars in "Icon News," as the show's host along side Sheri Nadel, his red carpet reporter. The two of them interview today's hottest Hollywood celebrities about their struggle to success and the issues that they fight for. The show airs on Wisecast Cable and according to Marklin is just something to do to posture his presence and position in Hollywood while he works on other shows. Marklin states, "It is important to always have a show out there with your face on it. It's an investment in your brand and you don't want people to forget you. If you have the celeb contacts and the open doors at the red carpets, you might as well use them. Continuously generate power by building a stampede for people to follow. You tell them what to do and they do it; that's power. When millions of viewers do what you say, you write your own check!"
